After graduating from veterinary school at Michigan State University, Dr. Eberhardt served in the U.S. Army, Yokohama, Japan, where he cared for Sentry and Scout Dogs protecting our military bases and troops in Viet Nam. The working Sentry/Scout Dog temperament is a far cry from the warm, fuzzy,“Pet Kids” he see’s in his practice today. Whatever the temperament, his concern for the health of pets in his care, along with those who love them, has always been his highest priority.
Dr. Eberhardt and his wife RuthAnn grew up in the Midwest where their 4 children and 13 grandchildren still live. Saddleback Church provides the spiritual grounding for his life as well as the ethics of his practice.
From the time he was 7 years old he knew he wanted to become a veterinarian. As a teenager he assisted veterinarians and accompanied them on house calls, always learning and developing the human/animal bond that would become so important in his own practice.
The ever changing field of veterinary medicine encourages and demands continuing education and Dr. Eberhardt attends an average of 3 evening seminars a month in addition to at least one major, multi-day conference each year. Technological advances will continue to lead the profession toward greater emphasis on non-invasive procedures enabling the well informed doctor to treat patients before a crisis exists.
Keeping abreast of the latest treatments and therapy while adding state-of-the-art medical equipment motivates him to provide exceptional preventive and early diagnostic medical care. Dr. Eberhardt feels he is blessed with the best calling in the world - caring for those who can not speak for themselves!
